Anthony Rehrig, PT
Tony Rehrig is a 1986 graduate of Palmerton High School. He enlisted in the US Navy, and served as a Nuclear Machinist Mate on the submarine the USS Stonewall Jackson out of Charleston, South Carolina. During this time in the service, Tony began his studies for a career in Physical Therapy. After honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy in 1993, he attended The Medical University of South Carolina full time, completing his degree in Physical Therapy in 1995.
After practicing in South Carolina for several years, Tony and his family returned to Pennsylvania. His skills are primarily in manual, hands on treatments and in comprehensive rehabilitation of stroke and neurological conditions. He has studied and trained in Maitland, Mulligan, Cyriax, Feldenkrais, and John F. Barnes MFR techniques as well as Therapeutic Touch, Neuro Developmental Techniques (NDT) and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF). He has additional experience and training in Vestibular Rehabilitation, Work Hardening, and general orthopedic rehabilitation. He has been fortunate to work with a series of very skilled clinicians with training from different countries and incorporates effective “Hands On” techniques from these experiences. His belief is that manual treatments are often the missing link in the recovery of complex pain and movement dysfunctions. He takes a holistic, whole body approach to problem solving and treatment of complex conditions, and is excited to join a team of highly qualified professions at Hands On Healing where he can utilize his skills and continue to learn in this dynamic field.
Tony is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association.
Tony resides in Palmerton, PA with his two children, Josh (11) and Lauren (5). He enjoys cooking, gardening, fishing, reading, hiking, kayaking, and baseball.
