Sara Sommer, (MSPT)

Sara SommerSara is originally from a small town in western Pennsylvania, and graduated from Misericordia University in 2002 with a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy. She has since practiced primarily as an outpatient therapist, and additionally in inpatient rehabilitation and geriatric settings, working with patients with orthopedic, neurological, and rheumatologic conditions. She has a direct access certification, and has experience working in a chronic pain program.

Sara believes that a more holistic approach to patient care is necessary, with hands-on treatments to address individual needs, and education to empower patients to take an active role in their care. She has been fortunate to have been mentored during previous employment in manual techniques, aquatic therapy, sports medicine, vestibular rehabilitation, and lymphedema. Formal training has been completed extensively in aquatic therapy with a certification in rheumatology, therapeutic yoga, Functional Orthopedics which focuses on soft tissue mobilization and developing muscle balance, and vestibular rehabilitation.

Sara resides in Whitehall with her husband, Tim, and their dog, Rio. She enjoys family, friends, photography, traveling, and outdoor activities.
