Hands on Healing I suffered from chronic pain for several years due to a combination of repetitive strain injuries and the aftermath of damage from other musculoskeletal injuries obtained in the past. When the pain in my hands and wrists became constant, I tried to seek out help from the traditional medical community. I went from doctor to doctor trying to find answers, without success. The various stints of physical therapy, injections, and drugs that were prescribed were not helpful and exacerbated my condition in many cases. My soft tissue issues were never properly diagnosed, and my condition deteriorated to the point where my entire body was affected. The constant daily pain I experienced was so severe that it was all I could do to get out of bed and try to function.

I felt that I had nowhere else to turn and had almost given up hope. I then found Suparna’s book, &It's Not Carpal Tunnel Syndrome&. In a last ditch effort, I contacted Suparna and received an evaluation. She was the only health care professional who properly tested and gave the correct diagnostic impressions for the soft tissue problems that I was experiencing. After finally obtaining a prescription for treatment, the therapists at Hands On Healing were able to devise a treatment program for me and give me some hope that I would be able to eventually recover from the damage. The manual therapy approach, in combination with modalities and specific stretching and strengthening exercises, was the key to starting the healing process. Suparna and the therapists at Hands On Healing saved my life, and I will be eternally grateful to them for their help.

As Hands On Healing has touched me, so have the hands of my Healer, King Jesus. I pray that His hands may bring the therapists at Hands On Healing PT shalom beyond their imagination. I thank them for enabling me to type, floss, play piano, fold laundry, set a volleyball and more than anything, hold my daughter again. Joy! Amazing. Amazing. Amazing Grace.

Hands On Healing gave me hope when I had little, patience when I had none, and they were always caring. Hands On Healing is the best place to go to for physical therapy. I hope they keep up the amazing work that they’re doing!

I came with doubts, almost reluctantly
And with a multitude of aches and pains
From the start, it was easy to see-
Here was a different style of therapy
The hands that massage and knead and heal
Are guided by more than you see
It’s not the muscles or knowledge or skill alone
It is the HEART that is the key
The care and compassion warm the soul
Like the sun on a summer day
The angels of healing- shine above the rest
And make Hands On Healing- the best!

I Came to Hands On Healing Physical Therapy Center when I could no longer brush my teeth. I had so much pain in my hands that I could not work, drive my car, shop for groceries, or even wash my hair. Like hundreds of thousands of Americans, I suffered with repetitive strain injury, or RSI. For years I went from doctor to doctor while my symptoms went from bad to worse. When I finally found help, I didn't find it a prominent hospital in a big city. Rather, it was right here in the Lehigh Valley at a friendly, little clinic called Hands On Healing Physical Therapy Center.

In a world where a visit to your doctor has become a frantic 10 minute dash, a visit to Hands On Healing Physical Therapy Center is a world apart. Appointments at hands on healing are non-hurried, and consist of comprehensive treatment. The work is literally hands on. With so much soft tissue damage, the first step to recovery is to remodel the damaged tissue. This is accomplished by using several a techniques, some of which were developed by the staff at Hands On Healing. Once the damage in the tissues is broken down, stretch and strengthening exercises are gradually introduced to rebuild healthy tissues. I thank Hands On Healing PT for my complete functional recovery.

Well, if you’re looking at this website and are like most of us at Hands On Healing, you’re in a lot of pain, are at least somewhat disabled, and at the end of your rope. I’m in my last few weeks in Allentown and am orders of magnitude more able and comfortable now, but it’s still hard to offer much encouragement while the struggles of the past three years are still fresh. So here’s the good news: pretty much everyone who comes to Hands On Healing and sticks with it gets better. And not just "better" in the sense that you’ve taken pills to suppress your symptoms and somehow managed to compensate via muscle tone and ergonomics, but better as in healed, without medications or surgeries.

So why is Hands On Healing different than any other PT clinic? Well first, they specialize in chronic pain. But more importantly, they do not just give you exercises or hook you up to electrostim machines. Instead, they do manual therapy -- deep tissue mobilization to help the injured muscles, fascia, tendons, and ligaments heal, to release the nerves caught in your injured tissue, etc. (If you want to know more you might want to read Suparna’s book – how most of us from around the world found Hands On Healing). What this means in practical terms is you will be pushed and pulled and prodded typically five days a week, for two to eight months.

In any event, if you’re suffering from chronic pain, you owe it to yourself to at least get an evaluation from Suparna. If you need further convincing, you can read the hundreds of hand prints from patients made on their last day at Hands On Healing, better than they had ever hoped, ready to return to a normal life. Mine will be green.
